More Structure. More Purpose. More Individualized Care.
At BARC, Academy is designed for dogs who thrive with structure, engagement, purposeful activity, and individualized attention throughout the day.
Unlike traditional daycare environments, dogs are worked individually rather than participating in group play. Each dog’s day is thoughtfully structured based on their needs, personality, confidence level, and goals.
Throughout the day, dogs may participate in enrichment activities, foundational training, confidence-building exercises, treadmill conditioning, fitness work, cooperative handling, and structured rest periods in a calm, controlled environment.
Whether your dog needs constructive outlets for energy, help building confidence, or simply a safe and enriching day away from home, Academy provides a thoughtful alternative to traditional daycare.
A DAY AT BARC ACADEMY
-
Each dog is given their own space to settle in and prepare for the day in a calm, structured environment. Dogs are never placed into group play.
-
Dogs participate in individualized enrichment activities tailored to their personality, confidence level, and needs. Activities may include puzzles, scent work, problem-solving games, and structured mental stimulation.
-
Dogs rotate through purposeful movement activities designed to build body awareness, confidence, coordination, and healthy outlets for energy in a safe, controlled setting.
-
Structured downtime is built into every Academy day to allow dogs to decompress, relax, and recharge between activities. Rest is an important part of learning and emotional regulation.
-
Dogs work individually on foundational skills, cooperative handling, confidence-building exercises, impulse control, and engagement through positive, structured interactions.
-
At the end of the day, dogs head home mentally fulfilled, physically engaged, and ready to relax after a structured day designed around their individual needs. At the end of the day, dogs head home mentally fulfilled, physically engaged, and ready to relax after a structured day designed around their individual needs. At the end of the day, dogs head home mentally fulfilled, physically engaged, and ready to relax after a structured day designed around their individual needs.

WHY WE DON’T USE GROUP PLAY
At BARC, Academy dogs are intentionally worked individually rather than participating in traditional group daycare play.
While group play can be appropriate for some dogs, it is not the best fit for every personality, confidence level, or learning style. Many dogs become overstimulated in large group environments, which can lead to stress, poor habits, or behavioral problems.
By working dogs individually, we’re able to prioritize purposeful enrichment, confidence-building, fitness, and learning in a way that keeps each dog safe, successful, and supported.
Testamonial
“FINALLY — an option for dogs who are dog selective! My two Labs compete in dog sports, so keeping them fit, engaged, and mentally fulfilled is incredibly important to me. BARC Academy offers the perfect balance of structure, enrichment, and individualized attention without the stress of an overstimulating group environment. I love knowing they’re getting purposeful activity in a way that supports their emotional well-being. The trainers at BARC are amazing, and I don’t trust just anyone with my girls.”
