Welcome to Balanced Animal Rehabilitation & Training Center (BARC). Our goal is to provide a safe, welcoming environment for dogs and their handlers. By participating in services, classes, training sessions, rehabilitation programs, or facility rentals at BARC, you agree to the following policies.

1. Scheduling & Cancellations

  • Cancellations: We understand that plans change. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours notice.

  • Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours notice may incur a full session charge.

  • No-Shows: Failure to attend a scheduled appointment without prior notice will result in a full charge for the session.

2. Payment

  • Payment is due at the time of booking for private lessons, group classes, and facility rentals.

  • We accept major credit cards, checks, and cash.

3. Health & Safety

  • Vaccinations: All dogs attending classes, run-throughs, drop-ins, clinics, playdates, or rentals must be current on vaccinations, including:

    • Rabies

    • DHPP

    • Bordetella (Kennel Cough)

Proof of vaccination is required prior to participation.

  • Health Concerns: If your dog is showing signs of illness (coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, etc.), please reschedule your session to protect the health of other dogs and clients.

  • Behavioral Concerns: BARC reserves the right to refuse service to dogs exhibiting aggressive or unsafe behavior that may pose a risk to other dogs, clients, or staff.

4. Class Requirements

  • Age & Experience: Some classes may have age or experience prerequisites. Please review class descriptions carefully to ensure they are appropriate for your dog.

If you are unsure which class is best for your dog, please contact us for guidance.

  • Group Classes: Dogs participating in group classes should be able to work around other dogs in a controlled environment.

Dogs struggling with reactivity or other behavioral challenges may benefit from private sessions or behavior modification training before joining group classes.

5. Training Equipment & Recording

  • Training Equipment: Please bring your dog’s leash, collar, and any training equipment discussed with your trainer. BARC supports balanced, humane training methods. If you use alternative training tools or approaches, please discuss them with your trainer in advance.

  • Recording: Sessions may occasionally be recorded for educational purposes or progress tracking with permission. If you prefer not to be recorded, please notify your trainer in advance.

6. Facility Use & Rentals

  • Rentals: BARC offers ring and facility rentals for training, events, or practice sessions. Rentals are subject to availability and must be booked in advance.

    • Ring rentals include up to two participants per hourly booking. Additional participants may require additional rental fees.

  • Respect for the Facility: All clients and visitors are expected to treat the facility, equipment, and property with care. Any damage to equipment or property may result in repair or replacement charges.

7. Clean-Up Policy

  • To maintain a clean and safe environment for all clients and dogs, owners are responsible for immediately cleaning up after their dogs both inside and outside the facility.

  • Failure to clean up after your dog may result in a $25 clean-up fee.

  • Accidents occasionally happen. If your dog urinates, defecates, or vomits inside the facility, please notify a staff member immediately so the area can be properly cleaned and sanitized.

  • A $25 cleaning fee may apply for accidents requiring staff clean-up.

  • Bitches In Season: Intact female dogs in heat are permitted in certain situations but must wear protective pants while inside the facility. Failure to follow this requirement may result in a cleaning fee and possible restriction from future participation.

8. Liability & Waivers

By participating in training, rehabilitation, events, or services at BARC, you acknowledge that you are responsible for your dog's behavior and actions while on the premises.

BARC is not liable for injuries, damages, or losses that may occur during participation in activities at the facility.

All clients must sign a liability waiver prior to participating in any services or events.

9. Refund & Transfer Policy

  • Refunds: Refunds are not issued for group classes, private lessons, or packages once services have been rendered.

In certain circumstances, such as documented medical emergencies, partial refunds or transfers may be considered at BARC’s discretion.

  • Class Transfers: If you are unable to attend a scheduled class, you may request a transfer to another session if space is available. Transfer requests must be made at least 48 hours before the start of the class.

10. Respectful Environment

BARC is committed to maintaining a welcoming and supportive environment for all clients, dogs, and staff.

All visitors are expected to treat others with respect and follow staff instructions while on the premises. Disruptive, aggressive, or unsafe behavior may result in removal from the facility or program.

If you have any questions about our policies, please feel free to contact us. We are happy to help ensure that both you and your dog have a positive and rewarding experience at BARC.
